The clinical study of UNCAP is the winner of the HT Challenge

Progetto senza titolo

The XVIII National AIIC Conference (Italian Association of Clinical Engineers) was held in Rome from May 10th to 12th. During the conference the first edition of the HT Challenge took place, which replaced the tradition call for abstracts with which the research work was selected for the poster area or short presentations. Eight thematic areas were identified for the HT Challenge and several healthcare professionals have been invited to participate: clinical and biomedical engineers belonging to AIIC, companies, Universities, and anyone who has gained experience or developed an innovative project that fits into one of the thematic areas proposed for the Challenge.

The clinical study of the H2020 UNCAP project won the first prize in the Health Technology Assessment area, and was received by the clinical engineer Simona Anzivino. The UNCAP system is an example of HW and SW technologies aimed at assisting the elderly with moderate cognitive deficit and has the objective of preserving the cognitive and physical state of the subject, monitoring physiological parameters and levels of physical activity, supporting formal and informal caregivers too.
